Testosterone Therapy for Prostate Cancer

Testosterone therapies have been denounced if used for patients with prostate cancer but without clear evidence for their harm. In general, at present it does seem prudent not to use aggressive testosterone therapies for individuals with prostate cancer.
Below is the revealing text of the conclusion section of a large 2014 meta-analysis report involving 2351 patients with prostate cancer. It was on the published in the journal Prostate Cancer Prostatic Diseases.
Conclusion: This meta-analysis shows that regardless of the administration method, TRT is the short-term safety and does not promote prostate cancer development or progression but long-term data are warranted with justifiable end points.
