Mycosis Fungoides – A Type of Skin Lymphoma

Mycosis is a type of malignant lymphopma belonging to the T-cell group of lymphomas. Beginning in the skin it spreads to other body organs after a variable period of time. The skin lesions usually itch and show surface erosions. The photograph below illustrates the clinical feature of mycoses lesions..
While the cause remains unclear, most cases are not genetic or hereditary. Most cases are in people over 20 years of age, and it is more common in men than women. Treatment options include sunlight exposure, ultraviolet light, topicalcorticosteroids, chemotherapy, and radiation.
